Says Dr. Campbell will take action on homelessness and public safety
San Diego – Congressman Juan Vargas has endorsed Jennifer Campbell, MD in her bid to represent San Diego’s 2nd City Council District, the campaign announced today.
“I am proud to endorse Dr. Jennifer Campbell,” said Congressman Juan Vargas. “I believe she’s the leader we need on the city council to take action on the issues most pressing to our community such as the homelessness crisis and public safety.”
Dr. Campbell continues to gain support from elected officials and community leaders in her campaign. In addition to Congressman Juan Vargas, Dr. Campbell has earned support from Congressman Scott Peters, State Senator Toni Atkins, Assemblymember Todd Gloria, former State Senator Christine Kehoe, and former Assemblymember Nathan Fletcher.
“I am incredibly honored to have the support of Congressman Juan Vargas. He has been an innovative leader in San Diego, whether it was establishing community-based policing or solving homelessness through job creation,” said Dr. Campbell. “As your next City Councilmember, I will work to follow Congressman Vargas’s example by being responsive to the needs of our community.”
As a Family Medicine specialist for the past thirty-seven years, Dr. Campbell has taken care of people of all ages and backgrounds. She is running for San Diego City Council’s Second District because she believes San Diego needs accountable leadership. She has been an active member of the San Diego community since she moved from Pittsburgh more than a decade ago. Here in San Diego, she has taught Integrative Medicine. She has advocated for her community through volunteering on civic projects, working with charities, and serving on the Board of Directors of the Clairemont Town Council and the San Diego County Democratic Party Central Committee. Dr. Campbell lives in the Bay Ho neighborhood of Clairemont. She and her partner have six children, nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She is The Doctor on Call to Fix City Hall.
